‘Metapolitics’ – a report of a speech delivered at a Hull NF meeting

A brief word of explanation: during the second half of 2012, the Hull branch of the National Front were very pleased to welcome as guest speaker at one of our meetings Dave Yorkshire, who spoke on the subject of metapolitics. Unfortunately, due to the pressure of work, I was unable at the time to write up my notes from the meeting as a report for the NF’s website. I have reflected since that this was a real shame, because no speech I have heard over the last couple of years at a nationalist meeting has had a message more worthy of reaching a wider audience (even through the relatively poor medium of my recollections!) than this one.

There is a cultural war taking place. Marxists suffer from doublethink in that they say we are all the same yet define culture in a multi-cultural sense, proving the nationalist dictum that different races create different cultures. A culture is essentially "how a people expresses itself in the world".

Goethe’s poem ‘Ein Anderes’ can be appreciated for its rhythm and also for its words – in particular, the final exhortation "Du mußt...Amboss oder Hammer sein" – "You must...be the anvil or the hammer".

Two hundred years ago, we British were a nation of conquerors, a hammer; a hundred years ago we were hanging on to what we had. Today any pride or will is crushed: we are the anvil – hammered by people and races from all over the world.

How has this come about? The Zionist role in politics and culture played a part and Benjamin Disraeli as a prime minister and writer was revealing about this. Disraeli stated that the best way of changing popular opinion was through literary fiction. BBC programmes contain an ideological bias against our own folk and in favour of the alien.

In our past, monarchies ceded power to mercantilism, which led to ‘the age of reason’ and the rise of new more individualistic philosophies, which had malign consequences. When we think less as a group, it makes it easier for members of other groups who are more group orientated to pick us off. This is why we have been prey to a large-scale Zionist takeover of institutions. It is natural that they have their group’s interests at heart and unnatural that we are not doing the same.

In Elizabethan times, members of all social classes would have gone to see the same play, which contributed towards maintaining a collective identity. Mercantilism led to a bourgeoisification of the theatre, ostracising the rank and file, and to an anti-heroic, more feminine literature. It is instructive to compare the earliest English literature to modern offerings. ‘Beowulf’ is a story about what it means to be a warrior, leader and protector of a people; by contrast, ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ instils ‘White guilt’.

However, heroic literature is for all, not just men. It brings cohesion to the tribe and, heroism apart, other themes are romance and morality. The underlying theme of folk tales is this: "Beware of the outsider". As an aside: it is worth noting how many of the villains of European folk stories, like witches and vampires, have aquiline noses.

It is not just through literature that the culture of our people is attacked. In dancing, folk traditions are mocked, but Morris dancing is "primal and full of energy". European dancing groups (such as those of traditional Scottish dance) will attract women who are underrepresented in the movement and such metapolitical organisations are needed to introduce political ideas to people without them realising it.

We need to look at our own history and culture. Zionists are rewriting our history to demonise us. One only has to look at offerings by Eric Hobsbawm (who thankfully died a few weeks after this speech) for examples. We must let no-one take our culture – it is the link between us and our ancestors and shows us where we are going.

A people without identity can be herded like cattle, so we must always be conscious of what it means to be White, British, European, Caucasian. We must be aware of our own culture, which gives a sense of a shared identity, of who we include and who we exclude.

Our guest exhorted members of the audience to each take up a pastime and strive to excel at it. Whether it was a sport or music or writing or something else was not the crucial factor, but we should aim to do well in our chosen field. And for the few who did go on to excel in their chosen field, at some point the media would ask "What inspired you?" and we would be able to reply "I did it for my Race; I did it for my People. It is we who are now oppressed, for it is only Whites who are denied the right to self-affirmation and who are able to be disparaged and targeted for extinction by such Zionist academics as Susan Sontag and Noel Ignatiev without redress". He added that, after that, the microphone would certainly be turned off, but we would have made our mark.

Once nationalists had reached a competent level of proficiency in their chosen field, they could form clubs that would serve to bring new people into the nationalist fold. This was previously done by Irish nationalists over a century ago, where literary, athletics and cultural groups and associations were formed, such as the Celtic Twilight literary group, the Gaelic League, the Gaelic Athletics Association etc.

Dave concluded his talk by quoting a passage from ‘Little Gidding’, one of T.S. Eliot’s ‘Four Quartets’.

Metapolitics is an unfamiliar idea to many, but it is essential for serious nationalists to gain some knowledge of it to have a deeper understanding of what we are fighting for and against and how the battles might be won. Hull members and our guests were grateful to Dave for providing such an accessible introduction to the cultural war and for the interesting asides and explanations which formed part of his talk.
