When The Kissing Had To Stop
Once we sat beneath love's Bowers
English meadows, English flowers
Eyes locked tight and passion flowing
Ne're a thought of where things going
When the kissing had to stop
Strangers came and filled the meadows
Trodden down the English flowers
Eyes fixed down and passion going
As the Stream turned Tidal flowing
When the kissing had to stop
Love lay dead and Greed was growing
Fattened fingers overthrowing
Gone for good the fields and flowers
England lay 'neath alien powers
When the kissing had to stop
No more kissing, no more loving
Of our Nation, of our Woman
Prison cells for those who spoke true
England crushed and Freedoms few
Then The Kissing Had To Stop
